A walkathon, dubbed Kampungku Ceria Satu Kampung Satu Keluarga organised by the Development and Security Committee members of RPN Kampong Mentiri village Consultative Council, was held yesterday.
Ambassador of Iran to Brunei Darussalam Homeria Rigi Zirouki, and High Commissioner of Pakistan to Brunei Darussalam Major General (Rtd) Farhat Abbas Sani were the guests of honour.
Acting Penghulu of Mukim Mentiri Pengiran Haji Ismail bin Pengiran Ibrahim officiated the programme and flagged off the three-kilometre walkathon which began and ended at the residence of Village Head of RPN Kampong Mentiri (Zone II) Haji Nizam bin Haji Julaihi.
Haji Nizam thanking the participants, said the event was held to mark the 39th National Day.
Used clothes were also given to the underprivileged under the Dibuang Sayang programme.
