Walk down memory lane

Over 60 members of the Japan friendship association, alumni of exchange programmes, Bruneians who studied in Japan as well as Japanese students in the Sultanate joined a get-together hosted by Japanese Ambassador to Brunei Darussalam Maeda Toru recently.

The attendees feasted on Japanese food while sharing their fond memories of Japan. The event enabled Brunei participants to network and explore collaborations.

Among the participants were Ship for Southeast Asian Youth Programme (SSEAYP) and Japan-East Asia Network of Exchange for Students and Youths (JENESYS) programme alumni.

SSEAYP is a youth exchange programme between Japan and ASEAN member states to broaden youths’ minds, raise their awareness of international affairs and improve their leadership skills.

JENESYS is a people-to-people exchange programme between Japan and Asia-Pacific countries to promote mutual trust and understanding among people of the region and to build a basis for future friendship and cooperation while understanding Japan.
