Volunteers unite for village cleaning campaign

The Infaq Ikhlas Team organised a cleaning campaign at Kampong Menunggol in the Brunei-Muara District yesterday as part of the Community Outreach Project under the 30th Executive Development Programme for Senior Government Officers (EDPSGO).

The campaign was carried out at the jetty area and Bukit Batu Bujang Pahang.

Over 100 volunteers comprising Kampong Menunggol residents through the Kampong Menunggol Village Consultative Council and the National Service Programme (PKBN) Alumni Association, participated, with the help of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces, Ministry of Education and the Brunei-Muara District Office.

Also in support of the campaign were the youth associations such as Youth Volunteers, Green Brunei, WeCare, VFAST Brunei and Brunei Council on Social Welfare (MKM).

The cleaning campaign was one of the activities under the Infaq Ikhlas Team, to promote Kampong Menunggol among the public.

Kampong Menunggol has the potential for ecotourism and leisure activities, including Bukit Batu Bujang Pahang, where Lombong Batu Arang, Gua Kelawar, Batu Bertingkat, Telaga Puteri and Wasai Mailu are located.
