VJ Mix Squad emerged winners of the nine-a-side Veteran Football Invitational Championship organised by ARF Event Management after edging KPPKSK 1-0 at the Sungai Asam Sports Complex in Sungai Kebun yesterday.
Muhd Sadiy bin Abdullah Tujoh was the match-winning hero after scoring the only goal of the game in the 27th minute. Meanwhile, ITF claimed third place after beating Old Timers FC 4-2, with the latter settling for fourth place.
The Best Player award went to Muhd Sadiy while Abang Nor Silmy bin Abang Haji Taha scooped the Top Scorer award, with Zulfikri bin Haji Masri collecting the Best Goalkeeper award.
Veteran Football Association (VFA) President Metussin bin Sumpong presented prizes to the
winners.
The competition commenced on February 18 and attracted 14 veteran teams. – Fadhil Yunus
