As part of its side programmes in conjunction with the Brunei Opening of the Legal Year (OLY) 2025, the Law Society of Brunei Darussalam organised a visit to the Faith and Devotion art exhibition and the collection of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam’s Islamic artefacts at Balai Khazanah Islam Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah for foreign guests attending the event.
Bar leaders from Singapore, Malaysia, Sabah, Sarawak, Hong Kong and the Commonwealth Lawyers Association viewed rare artworks and exhibits.
The visit, showcasing Brunei’s rich heritage as a tourist attraction, offered them an enriching cultural experience.
Before the visit, the bar leaders joined Law Society council members for a lunch featuring Bruneian cuisine at a local restaurant. In the evening, they participated in the Annual Legal Dinner at a hotel in Kampong Anggerek Desa, where they gathered with local legal fraternity members.
The Law Society also hosted a welcome dinner for the foreign guests ahead of the OLY proceedings. – Fadley Faisal
