Visit to primary schools to witness religious subject integration

The media visited several primary schools to witness the implementation of the integration of religious subjects into the general education system, which commenced on November 1.

The integration involved students previously studying at the pre-school level to Primary 3 in religious schools.

Through the integration, students will continue religious education in government, private and international primary schools.

Meanwhile, Primary 4 to Primary 6 religious school students will continue their learning as usual in their religious schools.

Religious subjects integrated into the general education system are taught for one hour every day. Primary school hours for government, private or international students involved in this integration, are adjusted from 7.30am to noon and 1.30pm to 3pm.

During the lunch break, between noon to 1.30pm, parents and guardians are allowed to bring their children out for lunch, eat with their children at school during lunch break or deliver food to their children.

The visit aimed to see the atmosphere at lunchtime in primary schools, where students who are in school take the time to have lunch and perform a mass Zohor prayer before continuing the afternoon school session.
