The relationship between members of the mosque takmir committee, congregation, and residents of Kampong Sungai Besar continues to be fostered through cooperation, strengthening ties, and establishing consensus, said village head of Kampong Sungai Besar, Kampong Serdang, and Kampong Sungai Belukut Lieutenant Colonel (Rtd) Haji Zaini bin Haji Awang Damit.
“One of the ways to achieve that harmony is through the involvement of all levels from charitable activities organised by the mosque takmir committee and the Village Consultative Council (MPK),” he said.
“We are proud of the success of this event, which has shown the cooperation of friends and the close unity of villagers and mosque congregants,” he said in his welcoming speech at the Hari Raya Aidilfitri ceremony at Kampong Sungai Besar Mosque on Thursday night.
Lieutenant Colonel (Rtd) Haji Awang Zaini, who is also the Secretary of Kampong Sungai Besar mosque takmir committee, expressed gratitude to the working committees for their cooperation, contributions and donations resulting in the event’s success.
Acting Director of Mosque Affairs at the Ministry of Religious Affairs Haji Amir Hisham bin Haji Masri, and Advisor to the mosque takmir committee of Kampong Sungai Besar Mosque, Haji Mohidin bin Pengarah, Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman, were present.
Prior to the event, the audience and congregants held a recitation of Surah Yaasiin and Doa Tahlil led by Kampong Sungai Besar Mosque Imam, Muhammad Hazman bin Haji Mohd Hairol Azme.
The event intended to gather congregants and villagers, received an encouraging response with the opportunity used to socialise while exchanging ideas to plan for future social and religious activities.
