Vietnam’s two million firms expected to contribute to 70pc of GDP by 2030

XINHUA – Vietnam aims to have two million firms by 2030 which will contribute to 65-70 per cent of the country’s gross domestic product (GDP), 32-38 per cent of the total number of jobs and 98-99 per cent of the total import-export turnover by 2030.

The target is part of the newly-issued government action programme to implement the Politburo’s Resolution on building and promoting the role of the contingent of Vietnamese entrepreneurs in the new era, Vietnam News reported yesterday.

According to the programme, Vietnam aims to have about 20-25 per cent of businesses owned by women, and 30-35 per cent having female directors or leaders.At least 10 Vietnamese businessmen will be on the list of world billionaires, and five voted as the most powerful businessmen in Asia by prestigious organisations by 2030.

This year Vietnam has six billionaires listed by the United States magazine Forbes.
