HANOI (XINHUA) – Vietnam’s rice exports set new records in both volume and value in 2024 at nine million tonnes and USD5.7 billion, said the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.
The rice exports represented a rise of 11 per cent in volume and 24 per cent in value over 2023, Vietnam News reported yesterday.
The average rice export prices this year also set a record high of more than USD600 per tonne.
The Philippines is Vietnam’s largest rice import market with a volume of 3.6 million tonnes.
