HANOI (XINHUA) – Over 50-per-cent rise in average export prices of Vietnamese coffee has pushed the country’s coffee export revenue in 2024 to potentially surpass the USD5-billion mark for the first time, local media reported yesterday, citing the Vietnam Coffee and Cocoa Association.
The coffee export revenue for this year is projected to reach USD5.5 billion thanks to abundant supply and high export prices, said the association.
Vietnamese coffee prices in the international market soared by over 90 per cent in 10 months, increasing from over USD3,000 per tonne in January to USD5,855 per tonne in October, according to the association.
In the first 11 months of this year, the average coffee prices rose 56.9 per cent year on year to USD4,037 per tonne.
