Vietnam’s agro-forestry-fishery sector sees trade surplus in H1

XINHUA – Vietnam has recorded an estimated agro-forestry-fishery trade surplus of USD8.28 billion during the first half of 2024 (H1), surging 62.4 per cent year on year, Vietnam News Agency has reported, citing the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.

Agro-forestry-fishery exports totalled about USD29.2 billion during the cited period, up 19 per cent from the same period last year, while imports stood at some USD20.92 billion, said the report.

Timber and wood products posted the highest trade surplus at USD6.16 billion, followed by coffee (USD3.14 billion) and fruits and vegetables (USD2.42 billion).

The United States, China and Japan remained the largest importers of agro-forestry-fishery products from Vietnam in H1.
