Four veteran teams in Group A confirmed their qualification to the quarter-finals at the Inter-Ministry Futsal Tournament in conjunction with the 31st Civil Service Day (HPA) celebration.
The group stage match was held at Hassanal Bolkiah National Sports Complex in Berakas on Tuesday.
The team from the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports won four games and one draw topped the group with five points while the team from the Ministry of Religious Affairs collected four points and finished second.
Meanwhile, the teams of the Ministry of Home Affairs (MoHA) and the Ministry of Health finished third and fourth to accompany the top two groups in Group A to the quarter-finals of the tournament.
The veteran category competition is divided into two groups with the participation of 11 teams. The prowess of the teams in Group B will be tested in the match scheduled for October 15.
The teams in Group B comprises the Ministry of Development, the Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism, the Ministry of Transport and Infocommunications, the Ministry of Defence and the Ministry of Education.
The tournament aimed to enhance the potential of the players as well as strengthen bonds.
