Brunei’s veteran athletes collected three gold medals, four silver and one bronze in the international veteran sports competition at Al-Wasl Sports Club in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
Alinawati binti Haji Aliakbar won three gold medals in javelin, high jump and shot put while Haji Tiang and Safari Mudim walked away with four silver in 100 metres (m) and 200m run as well as long jump and triple jump.
Meanwhile, Hajah Mariah binti Haji Metussin grabbed one bronze medal in javelin throw.
Hajah Mariah said they will next compete at the Asia Masters Athletics Championship 2023 from November 8-12 in the Philippines. – Azlan Othman
