CARACAS (AFP) – Venezuelan police arrested a journalist and her son on Sunday in Caracas, the national press union said, as the country’s post-election crisis continues following the disputed re-election of President Nicolas Maduro.
“National police officers took away journalist” Carmela Longo “along with her son”, the National Union of Press Workers (SNTP) said in a post on social media platform X, after having earlier reported a raid on her residence.
The SNTP said agents had seized “computer equipment” during the raid, and released a video that appeared to show Longo and her son entering a police vehicle.
