A vehicle burst into flame on Monday near the Mail Processing Centre at Jalan Airport Lama following a three-vehicle collision.
Two victims pulled from the wreckage by the public were rushed to the Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha (RIPAS) Hospital.
According to the Fire and Rescue Department (FRD), 10 firefighters and two fire engines from the Berakas Fire Station were mobilised.
The firefighters found one vehicle on fire due to the impact from the accident.
The blaze was brought under control in seven minutes, said the FRD.
The cause and estimated losses are under investigation.
The FRD reminded road users to ensure their vehicles are in good and safe condition.
Car owners need to make sure there are no leakages at the pump which can cause flammable liquid to run to the hot engine and electric wiring causing fire.
The agency also advised the public to equip their vehicles with fire extinguishers and make sure that any modification to the wiring system, engine and car accessories complies with the established standards and is done by certified technicians at the workshops recognised by the Land Transport Department. – James Kon
