US commander visits Ministry of Defence

The Ministry of Defence (MinDef) yesterday received an official visit from Commander of United States Indo-Pacific Command (US INDO-PACOM) Admiral John C Aquilino, who will be leaving the country today.

Upon arrival at Bolkiah Garrison, Admiral Aquilino was greeted by Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Muhammad Haszaimi bin Bol Hassan and inspected the guard of honour comprising Royal Brunei Land Force personnel.

Admiral Aquilino paid separate calls to Deputy Minister of Defence Brigadier General (Rtd) Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Abdul Razak bin Haji Abdul Kadir and Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Muhammad Haszaimi.

Both sides affirmed the long-standing and close defence relationship which continues to grow and strengthen over the years through extensive bilateral engagements.

The visit was Admiral Aquilino’s first time to the country since his appointment on April 30, 2021.
