US Air Force F-22s to visit Brunei

F-22s from the 27th Expeditionary Fighter Squadron, Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Virginia, USA and C-130s from the United States Air National Guard will land in Brunei via Rimba Air Force Base on August 6, 2024, according to the US Embassy in a statement on its website.

The visit, the statement said, will focus on subject matter expert exchange through tours of the aircraft with pilots and maintenance teams, including an introduction to the unique capabilities of the F-22 as a fifth-generation fighter jet. The aircraft are scheduled to depart Brunei on August 8, 2024.

The embassy added that the United States Air Force and Royal Brunei Air Force conduct regular training and engagements to further develop the operational capabilities of each service while strengthening people-to-people ties and ensuring a free and open Indo-Pacific region.
