The Ministry of Health (MoH) has identified a marginal rise in cases of influenza-like illness (ILI) and COVID-19 within the country.
In a statement issued Tuesday, MoH anticipates a slight surge in ILI and COVID-19 instances due to increased domestic and international movements.
To mitigate the risk, the public is strongly advised to uphold social responsibility by adhering to personal hygiene practices, practicing proper coughing and sneezing etiquette, wearing face masks when displaying signs of infection, and refraining from attending public places and gatherings.
MoH emphasizes the importance of complete Flu/COVID-19 vaccinations with booster doses, especially for high-risk groups such as senior citizens, individuals with chronic diseases, and expectant mothers. This precautionary measure aims to reduce the likelihood of severe infections.
Individuals experiencing prolonged symptoms or worsening conditions are urged to seek immediate medical attention. Those visiting Flu Clinics, Accident and Emergency departments, or attending patients in wards must wear face masks.
MoH assures the public of continuous monitoring of the situation, providing timely updates. – James Kon
