Four buffaloes were sacrificed by the Kampong Kilanas Mosque Takmir Committee members during a Korban ceremony yesterday to mark Hari Raya Aidiladha.
Minister of Primary Resources and Tourism Dato Seri Paduka Dr Haji Abdul Manaf bin Haji Metussin distributed the sacrificial meat to 27 underprivileged individuals in Kampong Kilanos who are registered with the Brunei Islamic Religious Council (MUIB).
The annual ceremony aims to collectively uphold the teachings of Islam while simultaneously extend a helping hand to the needy members of the community.
It also serves to encourage residents to glorify the mosque while cultivating a spirit of cooperation in the community.
Other objectives include promoting the function of mosque as an institution that responsible for glorifying the eminence of Islam in the Sultanate.
