Village residents in the country have a spirit of teamwork that should be nurtured among the younger generation, said a village leader during a korban ceremony at Kampong Sungai Besar Mosque recently.
Village Chief of Kampong Sungai Besar, Kampong Sungai Belukut and Kampong Serdang Lieutenant Colonel (Rtd) Haji Zaini bin Haji Damit said the teamwork spirit is in the heart of Bruneians and prevalent among village residents. The village head said it was important to continue the tradition of working together, especially with the youth and the changes brought about by digital technologies.
“We are proud of the continuous effort by the community to strengthen ties through this spirit of togetherness,” he said, and urged youth to be involved in more community-oriented activities.
The korban ceremony at the mosque saw three buffaloes sacrificed, and the meat distributed among participants, single mothers and the underprivileged. – Azlan Othman
