About 100 participants attended the Musabaqah Murattal Al-Quran and Al-Quran Verses Memorisation and its Understanding Guidance Scheme organised by the Tarbiyah Muallaf Division, Islamic Da’wah Centre (PDI) yesterday.
The two-day event was attended by teachers of convert guidance classes and participants from all four districts who qualified through the test to proceed to the district level.
The event sought to share experiences of mentors with the participants upgrading their knowledge on the methods of reading Al-Quran with Tarannum, as well as to provide focus on the strength and weakness in Al-Quran reading.
Yesterday’s sessions were facilitated by the Religious Teachers University College of Seri Begawan Education Officer Haji Mohamed Noor bin Haji Ibrahim and Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali’s Usuluddin Faculty lecturer Dr Ahmad Baha bin Mokhtar.
The programme also hoped to impart understanding and knowledge of the correct methods of reading and memorisation of Al-Quran verses to converts and to make Al-Quran reading a daily practice.
The event concludes today with a closing ceremony and certificate presentation.
