Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar yesterday debunked a viral video’s claim suggesting that an individual who has recovered from COVID-19 must replace the toothbrush or risk getting reinfected.

“Cleanliness plays a vital role in preventing the spread of transmittable disease such COVID-19. However, as mentioned at previous press conferences, COVID-19 is highly sensitive and can be killed off with simple detergents. The ingredients in toothpaste can easily remove traces of the virus when a person uses the same toothbrush,” he said.
