Some 17 students from the Faculty of Agriculture at Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA), participated in the Global Interaction (GLINT) UNISSA-UPMKB 2025 programme at Universiti Putra Malaysia, Bintulu Campus (UPMKB), Sarawak from January 1 to 4.
The group, comprising first- to fourth-year students specialising in Agribusiness and Agrotechnology, was accompanied by Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture Dr Nur Thaqifah Salihah binti Haji Mohd Salleh, and Bachelor’s Programme Coordinator Dr Syahirah binti Haji Shahlehi.
The outbound programme aimed to provide students with exposure to academic approaches, research practices, and modern agricultural techniques at UPMKB. Participants engaged in academic briefings, discussions and visits to UPMKB’s agricultural facilities, including a deer park, horticulture centre, fish ponds, and the Faculty of Agricultural and Forestry Sciences.
The programme fostered academic collaboration between UNISSA and UPMKB, while also equipping students with knowledge on sustainable agriculture.
It is anticipated to inspire innovation and entrepreneurial spirit among participants in the agricultural field.
