Some 1,000 Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA) Mushaf were contributed as a waqaf (endowment) to the Muallaf Development Division (Tarbiyah Muallaf) of the Islamic Da’wah Centre (PDI) yesterday.
The Mushaf will be distributed to the converts in the Sultanate.
The ceremony saw UNISSA Rector Dr Haji Norarfan bin Haji Zainal hand over the Mushaf to PDI Director Haji Abdul Rajid bin Haji Mohd Salleh at the centre’s premises in Kampong Pulaie.
The Mushaf is hoped to benefit Muslim converts in the country and to encourage the habit of Al-Quran reading among them while spreading the teachings of Islam and supporting educational and religious activities that reinforce the values of Al-Quran within the community. – Rokiah Mahmud
