Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA), through its Student Affairs Office, held an orientation briefing yesterday for students enrolled in the January 2025 academic session.
The orientation, part of the university’s ‘Minggu Ta’aruf’ programme, saw the participation of 118 students, comprising 50 undergraduates and 68 postgraduates.
UNISSA Acting Rector Dr Hajah Lilly Suzana binti Haji Shamsu was the guest of honour.
The ceremony began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and a Doa Selamat led by UNISSA religious officer Pengiran Mohammad Daud bin Pengiran Matassan, followed by welcoming remarks by Acting Dean of Students and event chairman Haji Mohammad Khairul Nazif bin Haji Awang Damit.
Acting Assistant Rector (Academic) Dr Hajah Mas Nooraini binti Haji Mohiddin highlighted the significant differences between secondary school and university learning environments and addressed the challenges that students may encounter and encouraged them to seek strength through prayer and reliance on Allah the Almighty to overcome obstacles.
The event concluded with the reading of the new student pledge, led by Faculty of Islamic Technology student Adib Zainul Zaky bin Haji Abdul Manaf. – Fadley Faisal
