Earlier, the defendant entered the court complex dressed in a Melaka Hospital patient outfit, with his left hand wrapped in bandages due to injuries.

Deputy Public Prosecutor Hanis Aliyah Ahmad Kamarulnajuib did not offer bail, as the offence is non-bailable.

The court set April 21 as the next mention date.

On 23 February, reports indicated that the victim, who was married, was discovered bleeding on a bed next to the suspect, in a rented two-story terrace house.

The victim from Taman Sri Aman, Masjid Tanah, here had been renting the house for the past six months, while her husband resided in Kuala Lumpur.
