The Islamic Da’wah Centre (PDI), in collaboration with Qalam Academy and supported by Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam (BIBD), launched the BIBD Connects Asnafpreuners Nite Market in conjunction with the 76th birthday celebration of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam at Taman Makhota Jubli Emas in the capital yesterday.

The event was officiated by Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA) Rector Dr Haji Norarfan bin Haji Zainal, who is also a member of the Brunei Islamic Religious Council.

Some 19 stalls were set up for the underprivileged, categorised under the Asnaf Zakat and Usahawan Kecil recipients of the National Welfare Scheme (SKN).

The site included a cat exhibition tent where visitors could take a look at a feline showcase.

Participating were Muallafpreneurs Consortium, Syarikat Gabungan Usahawan Transformasi 1K1P, BIBD SEED, Prisons Department’s Friends Under Supervision Programme, and the Bakarih Foundation.

Asnafpreneurs Nite Market will continue until July 31 from 4pm to 10pm daily.
