Ummah urged to take lessons from Ramadhan

“Ramadhan is not only brought to life by fasting and the recitation of Al-Quran, but also learning and appreciating the lessons contained in fasting to guide our everyday life, such as practising sincerity and piety, applying the values of moderation, and making use of time to help each other.”

This was highlighted in a talk ‘Ihya Ramadhan’, to usher in the holy month by religious education officer Haji Azmi bin Haji Akop, who is also the Secretariat of Tafsir Mushaf Brunei Darussalam publication from the Islamic Da’wah Centre during the 79th Munajat night on Saturday.

The recitation of Sayyidul Istighfar and Al-Fatihah was led by Ra’es of Religious Teachers University College of Seri Begawan (KUPU SB) Dr Haji Adanan bin Haji Basar.

The reading of Surah Yaasiin was led by Year 2 student of Aliyah Qiraat Diploma programme at Institut Tahfiz Al-Quran Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah by Muhammad Azib bin Muhammad Azim.

Doa Munajat was read by Senior Religious Education Officer at the Co-Curriculum Division at the Islamic Education Department Haji Ayop bin Haji Ghani.

There was also Selawat Tafrijiyyah and reading of Doa Peliharakan Sultan dan Negara Brunei Darussalam.

Officers, lecturers and undergraduates at KUPU SB and Institut Tahfiz Al-Quran Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah; mosque committee members of Kampong Pengkalan Batu as well as 101 mosques, suraus and religious halls nationwide and workforce at the Ministry of Religious Affairs also attended.
