KIEV (XINHUA) – The Ukrainian Agriculture Ministry on Friday raised its projection for this year’s grain harvest by 3.8 per cent to 59.7 million tonnes, citing a record yield.
Ukraine has achieved an all-time high grain yield of 54.7 centners per hectare this year, the ministry said on its website.
Ukraine expects to harvest 30.1 million tonnes of corn, 22.2 million tonnes of wheat and 5.8 million tonnes of barley in 2023.
The ministry left the estimation for this year’s oilseeds harvest unchanged at 21.6 million tonnes.
Earlier this week, the Ukrainian Grain Association projected that the country’s grain and oil crops exports from this year’s harvest have the potential to reach 50 million tonnes.
