Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) is set to hold the inaugural UBD Run 2023 on October 15, celebrating graduates of the 35th UBD Convocation and welcoming the latest intake who recently completed the Freshers’ Week.

The event at Taman Haji Sir Muda Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien in the capital is open to UBD students and staff, alumni as well as the public.

Participants can register any of the three categories: three kilometres (km) fun run, fivekm men and women competitive run, and 10km men and women competitive run.

While all participants will receive an e-certificate, bib and event shirt for their categories, only those in the fivekm men and women competitive run and 10km men and women Competitive run will receive medals upon completion of the route.

UBD Acting Assistant Vice-Chancellor (Corporate and Administration), Associate Professor Pengiran Dr Mohammad Iskandar bin Pengiran Haji Petra said, “The UBD Run 2023 is not just a run; it’s a collective effort to create a positive impact on our community.”

Part of the proceeds from the event’s registration fees will be donated to the National Orphans Fund. The event serves as a platform for the UBD community and the public to come together, engage in physical activities and promote healthy lifestyle while contributing to a good cause.

“As participants take part in this event, they’re not just running – they’re running with purpose. Their steps are contributing to a brighter future for those in need, reinforcing the power of unity and compassion,” he said.
