Universiti Brunei Darussalam’s Institute for Biodiversity and Environmental Research (IBER) Assistant Lecturer Dr Salwana binti Md Jaafar was in Stanford University in the United States recently.
The two-week visit was funded by Nanyang Technological University, Singapore (NTU Singapore). It was part of a project involving IBER, the Asian School of the Environment (ASE) at NTU Singapore and Stanford University.
Dr Salwana was hosted by Director of the Earth Systems Program Associate Professor Dr Kabir Peay.
Dr Salwana was immersed in a programme focused on bioinformatics training and analysis, utilising soil samples collected in Brunei Darussalam’s tropical rainforests in 2023. She also joined activities including lectures, classes, field visits and laboratory meetings.
