The Labour Department conducted an operation at Kampong Pancha Delima recently, where employers were caught failing to provide adequate accommodation.
Employers may face a fine of up to BND1,000 for each offence under the Employment Order 2009. The failure to settle the fine will result in the case being brought to court.
The Labour Department in a statement called on employers to always monitor their workers’ welfare affairs in accordance with the requirements of the stated in the Employment Order 2009. – Azlan Othman
