Ubud, Bali, Indonesia (ANN/JAKARTA POST) Two tourists were killed on the Indonesian resort island of Bali after a large tree fell in the Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary on Tuesday (Dec 10).

The accident, believed to be caused by a sudden, strong gust of wind, resulted in a large tree falling onto a group of visitors. The victims were identified as 32-year-old F Justine Christine from France and 42-year-old Kim Hyoeun from South Korea.

A third tourist, 43-year-old Lee Sunni from South Korea, sustained serious injuries in the incident.

A video circulating online captures the moment of the tragedy, showing visitors walking through the sanctuary before a large tree crashes down.

The Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary, a popular tourist destination, is a nature reserve and temple complex known for its resident macaque population. To allow for investigations and to ensure visitor safety, the sanctuary will remain closed on December 11 and 12.
