With the consent of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, two senior officers of Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) were promoted yesterday, from lieutenant colonel to substantive colonel.
The rank insignias were presented by Commander of the RBAF Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Muhammad Haszaimi bin Bol Hassan at the Bolkiah Garrison Officers’ Mess.
Also present at the ceremony were Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Defence II Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof with permanent secretary, services commanders, acting service commander, acting joint force commander (JFC), deputy permanent secretary, directors and senior officers of the Ministry of Defence as well as former RBAF commanders and family members of the promoted officers.
The ceremony concluded with the recitation of Doa Selamat by Director of RBAF Religious Directorate (JAMA’AT) Commander Haji Ainolnizam bin Haji Ibrahim, Royal Brunei Navy, to bless the ceremony. – James Kon
