His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Malik, as Chairman of the Committee of Governors of Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah (Yayasan), presented BND100,000 to two non-governmental organisations yesterday.
The handover ceremony took place during a Doa Kesyukuran ceremony held in conjunction with the 32nd anniversary of Yayasan’s establishment at its premises in the capital.
His Royal Highness handed BND50,000 to Pusat Ehsan Al-Ameerah Al-Hajjah Maryam, received by its senior trustee Dato Paduka Haji Alimin bin Haji Abdul Wahab.
The contribution is an annual contribution made by Yayasan to support the centre in delivering services and training for individuals with physical and intellectual disabilities, enabling them to reach their full potential. His Royal Highness then handed over BND50,000 to the Society for the Management of Autism Related issues in Training, Education and Resources (SMARTER) Brunei, received by its president Pengiran Zamri bin Pengiran Haji Bujang.
Fifty per cent of the contribution will go to teaching and learning activities for autistic children while the remaining to be used towards providing children with autism from low-income families. – Rokiah Mahmud
