Two men charged with homemade firearm possession

Prosecutors on Tuesday arraigned two men in the Magistrate’s Court to face charges of possessing home-made rifles.

Magistrate Nur Eleana binti Dato Seri Paduka Haji Hairol Arni did not take pleas from the duo to make way for the Royal Brunei Armed Forces’ ballistic report on the seized rifles. Prosecutor Hajah Siti Mu’izzah binti Haji Sabli drafted the charges against 47-year-old foreigner Rosli @ Roslin bin Mohamad of possessing three homemade rifles at his home in Kampong Burong Pingai, Kampong Ayer on July 3, while his neighbour, 24-year-old local Awangku Mohamad Nor Izzuddin bin Pengiran Narudin, of possessing a piece of home-made rifle.
