Two locals held as Police foil contraband smuggling attempt

A police surveillance operation in the Temburong District thwarted an attempted contraband smuggling on Monday.

According to the Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF), officers stopped a suspicious vehicle around 5pm and discovered 36 bottles of alcohol hidden in large plastic bags.

The driver, an unemployed local and a local teenage passenger were detained for further investigation.

The case has been handed over to the Royal Customs and Excise Department for further action.

The RBPF reminded the public to avoid involvement in criminal activities, highlighting the harm it can bring to individuals and their families. – James Kon
