Two individuals were hurt in a vehicle accident in front of a shopping complex in Beribi on April 21. One victim sustained injuries to the neck and back while another has a broken left hand.
According to the Fire and Rescue Department (FRD), two vehicles were involved in the incident.
Nine firefighters from Beribi Fire Station Operation ‘A’ Branch led by ASO Sohardi bin Haji Piut were dispatched to the scene.
The firefighters dislocated the battery with a crowbar and cleaned up the glass fragments on the road using a water hose reel.
The FRD reminded road users to always ensure that their vehicles are in good condition and do not have any leakages that could cause flammable liquid to flow to the engine block or electrical system causing fire.
Vehicle owners must ensure that modifications or additions to the electrical system of the engine and car accessories are in accordance with the standards and carried out by accredited mechanics.
