Two individuals were issued with a compound fine of BND500 each by the Department of Environment, Parks and Recreation (JASTRe) for littering at a public premise on Tuesday.
The department found the two leaving the trash at an open field at Anduki. It was captured on CCTV.
Each individual was given seven days to settle the fine. Failure to do so will result in the case being brought to court. If guilty, the accused will be fined between BND1,000 and BND3,000 for the first offence, and between BND3,000 and BND9,000 and imprisonment of no more than six months, or both, for subsequent offences. – Daniel Lim
