Business premises in the Temburong District came under the scrutiny of the Department of Economic Planning and Statistics (JPES) and Weights and Measures (SDT) Unit yesterday.
The JPES found the businesses abide by Chapter 142 of the Price Control Act while the SDT Unit found two weighing and measuring equipment not complying with Chapter 151 of Weights and Measures Act 1983 of having expired registration.
Seizure notices were issued to the two companies and they are required to appear at the SDT Unit office within seven days to rectify the matter.
The measuring and weighing tools were also confiscated. SDT Unit also found three businesses failing to display net weight on packaged products. The joint inspection yesterday targetted business premises and markets in Pekan Bangar, Kampong Rataie and Kampong Puni.
