Two companies were slapped with BND1,000 compound fines by the Enforcement Unit of the Tutong District Office last week for illegally disposing rubbish in public areas, a violation under Chapter 30 of the Miscellaneous Offences Act (Amendment) 2021.
The companies were given seven days to settle the fine.
Failure to do so will see the case brought to court.
If found guilty, the company may be fined between BND2,000 and BND10,000.
For the second or subsequent offence, the company could face between BND10,000 and BND30,000 fine, imprisonment, or both. – James Kon
