SEOUL (ANN/THE KOREA HERALD) – Renowned singer-songwriter and actor IU has announced an exciting collaboration with a beloved animated character for her upcoming album.
Teaming up with Tweety Bird, the iconic yellow canary from Warner Bros’ “Looney Tunes,” IU aims to add a playful twist to her musical venture.
IU’s partnership with Tweety Bird extends beyond mere promotion; it includes the release of a special edition album featuring the cheerful canary on its cover.
Edam Entertainment, IU’s agency, confirmed plans for this unique release along with a range of merchandise to complement the collaboration.
This collaboration holds sentimental value for IU, who has a longstanding affinity for Tweety Bird. Notably, she has prominently featured Tweety as her Instagram profile picture for over five years, showcasing her fondness for the character.
The synergy between IU and Tweety Bird gained traction in 2021 when a fan highlighted the resemblance between IU and the animated character on Twitter.
The tweet garnered attention, receiving a retweet from the official “Looney Tunes” account, signalling the beginning of a delightful connection between IU’s persona and the beloved cartoon icon.
By merging IU’s musical prowess with the charm of Tweety Bird, this collaboration promises to captivate fans with its unique blend of nostalgia and creativity.

On Tuesday, IU changed her Instagram profile picture for the first time in five years to a new version of Tweety Bird.
IU’s sixth EP, “The Winning,” led by its two title tracks, “Shopper” and “Spore,” is set for release on February 20.
