The festive stage performance in the Tutong District in conjunction with the 77th birthday celebration of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam recently hosted a religious performance Sinar lagu Dakwah PKWE Tutong organised by Tutong’s Senior Citizen Activity Centre (PKWE).
Acting Tutong District Officer Muhammad Sofian bin Haji Basri was the guest of honour. Also in attendance was Legislative Council member Yang Berhormat Abdul Aziz bin Haji Hamdan who is also Village Head of Kampong Sengkarai.
Six groups took part in the competition, namely Al-Barakah, Rania, Aqlan, Nurul Iman, Al hidayah and Pemuda Setia, with Al-hidayah emerging as the winner.
Yang Berhormat Abdul Aziz said such competitions increase the confidence of the participants and show love for the monarch and the country, in line with the goal of uniting senior citizens across the country. – James Kon
