Tutong residents learn about safety

The Safety, Health and Environment National Authority (SHENA) continued its series of roadshows yesterday at Kampong Serambangun Multi-purpose Hall in the Tutong District.

The roadshow included a showcase, talks, and interactive games with support from government agencies, private companies, institutes of higher learning and schools.

Participants included Manpower Planning and Employment Council (MPEC) Secretariat, JobCentre Brunei, Lifelong Learning Centre (L3C) and Health Promotion Centre.

SHENA Director of Process Safety Division Haji Ya’akub bin Haji Yusof said SHENA’s vision is to give its full commitment to trigger changes in making Brunei Darussalam a safe place to work and reside.

He said SHENA plays a vital role in upholding national health, safety and environment (HSE) regulatory framework and make sure stakeholders comply to the regulations. This effort is to ensure improvement in workplace where the risk to the public, assets and environment is reduced to as low as possible.

Acting Tutong District Officer Mohammad Sofian bin Haji Basri was the guest of honour at the event. Legislative Council member Yang Berhormat Abdul Aziz bin Haji Hamdan and Tutong District officials were also present.

The event concluded with a prize presentation to game winners Zulainah @ Syazanah Darwisyah binti Haji Mohd Suhaini, Muhammad Juryandie bin Abdullah and Siti Rosnursuriani binti Abdullah Kamchi.
