A joint operation by the Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) and the Royal Customs and Excise Department (RCED) uncovered contraband cigarettes in the Tutong District on Tuesday. The operation targeted a government barrack suspected of selling contraband cigarettes, according to the RBPF.
Enforcement personnel found four cartons of cigarettes, one vape device and 35 packets of cigarettes, alongside a mobile phone and cash believed to be proceeds from sale of the contraband, it added.
The evidence were seized and a local suspect, aged 47, was instructed to report to RCED for investigation. – James Kon
