The Faculty of Islamic Development Management at Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA) held its inaugural Ambassadorial Lecture Series recently, featuring the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Turkiye to Brunei Darussalam Professor Dr Hamit Ersoy, according to a press release from UNISSA.
The lecture, titled “The Ottoman Contribution to the Modern Islamic Civilisation”, was held at the university’s Jubilee Hall and explored the vast contributions of the Ottoman Empire in shaping modern Islamic civilisation, particularly in areas such as governance, education, architecture, and intellectual scholarship.

The event was attended by the Rector of UNISSA Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Norarfan bin Haji Zainal, along with senior officials, deans, lecturers, and students of the university.
The lecture reflected UNISSA’s ongoing commitment to advancing knowledge and strengthening international collaboration through engagements with globally renowned scholars.
