A trio of relatives, all men in their 20s, were jailed after they pleaded guilty to stealing money from their own grandfather.
Twenty-year-old Mohammad Yassin bin Mohammad Sufri received 10 months’ jail for theft and abetment, 22-year-old Mohammad Syukri Shahwan bin Abdullah got 14 months’ jail for theft and 21-year-old Mohammad Syahrizam Azwan bin Abdullah was handed a 20 months’ jail sentence for theft.
Magistrate Nur Eleana binti Dato Seri Paduka Haji Hairol Arni heard from Prosecutor Aeny Zullizam that it was Mohammad Yassin who told his two cousins that if they needed money, they could get it from their grandfather through his ATM card.
