Following the success of last year’s packages, Tourism Malaysia and Royal Brunei Airlines (RB) unveiled the return of Hello Kawan 2024, collaboration to promote holiday packages to Kuala Lumpur, Kuching and Kota Kinabalu.
The packages offer RB’s flights with top hotels in various cities in Malaysia.
Tourism Malaysia Brunei Darussalam Deputy Director Roshdi Abdul Ghani said, “Hello Kawan campaign is a partnership that forges closer collaborations with our counterparts to ensure Malaysia remains the most preferred destination in this market.”
In a bid to welcome 1.345 million tourist arrivals from the Sultanate this year, the campaign hopes to entice Bruneians to explore more of Malaysia.
It is also an initiative to achieve the target of welcoming a total of 27.3 million international tourist this year. In 2023, Malaysia recorded 811,833 Brunei tourist arrivals, reflecting strong pent-up demand as compared to the previous year.
“A number of initiatives have been taken by the Malaysian government to rejuvenate the tourism sector and this effort initiated by Tourism Malaysia and RB will drive more Bruneian tourists into Malaysia,” added Roshdi.
Meanwhile, RB Chief Executive Officer Captain Sabirin bin Haji Abdul Hamid said, “Malaysia has always been one of the top go-to destinations for Bruneians as it is the closest neighbouring country, hence, this collaboration will ensure our guests are provided with comprehensive packages.”
He added, “We emphasise the safe and hassle-free journey to our guests as they will avoid the long queues at land borders. Combined with RB’s hospitality by our award- winning cabin crews, and the attractions and hospitality of Malaysia, our guests can anticipate a memorable holiday.”
