Brunei Shell Marketing Company Sdn Bhd’s (BSM) Masters Mechanics Programme has been popular among general mechanics and aspiring mechanics studying at the Institute of Brunei Technical Education (IBTE) Mechanical Campus, drawing in a registration of over 500 lBTE students and general mechanics in the Sultanate.
BSM Managing Director Muhammad Norshafiee bin Dato Paduka Haji Abdul Jalil said this during the BSM Master Mechanics Night at Mulia Hotel in Berakas on Saturday.
He said the first phase of the programme identified mechanics with proven technical expertise, dexterity and business acumen through online quiz, interview and programme’s mini challenge.
The participants will now train to become entrepreneurs that are proficient in computer systems, electronics and software, as well as being able to deliver excellent customer service as part of the second phase of the programme.
BSM Master Mechanics Night saw the presentation of medals to the top three finalists of the programme’s lBTE students and general mechanics categories.
The winners will be unveiled at the Chairman’s Awards next month earning themselves the title of Master Mechanic of Brunei Darussalam, with prizes including a trip to MotoGP in Sepang, Malaysia and BND3,000 in cash.
The event also saw the launch of the Mechanics’ Loyalty Programme allowing mechanics registered with BSM to earn loyalty points. The points can be converted into rewards such as fuel vouchers, shopping vouchers and phone top-up cards.
