The Industry and Business Ecosystem Division (IBE) through the Weights and Measures (SDT) Unit under the Ministry of Finance and Economy conducted a mobile station verification service at Pasar Pantai Jerudong recently.
It was part of an ongoing initiative with a customer-friendly approach to protecting consumers and encouraging businesses to be more transparent while ensuring businesses comply with Chapter 151 of the Weights and Measures Act, 1983 and the stipulated guidelines under the Act. During the mobile station verification service, the SDT registered 30 units.
Over the past seven months, it has conducted the initiative eight time, focusing on traders at tamu, pasar and gerai perayaan (festive stalls) to ensure the weighing and measuring machines are registered and calibrated. The SDT added that Individuals and businesses can register and verify their machines at the following offices according to their areas of residence:
In the Brunei-Muara District, it is located at national standard centre building at B19, Simpang 32-15, Kampong Anggerek Desa.
In the Tutong District, it is at Rumah Kelas C, PWD No 380, Jalan Sungai Basong.
In Belait District, it is on the ground floor of government departments building of Jalan Carey, Kuala Belait.
